How long are the placements?
Work Experience placements with Channel 4 are a maximum of two weeks. If you are looking for a long term placements please visit our Channel 4 Internships and Apprenticeship web pages.

Do you offer work experience for production or 'on-screen' staff?
Here at Channel 4, we commission all our shows from independent companies and therefore do not make any programmes in house.  The majority of our placements are office based and do not provide on- screen or production experience.  Many of the Independent Production Companies who make programmes for us run their own work placement schemes, these companies can be found on the Pact website at www.pact.co.uk

Does attendance to the open day guarantee a placement?
Attendance to one of our open days does not guarantee a work experience placement. You must apply for a placement in a department of your choice and once all applications are considered we will confirm if you have a placement.

How do I apply?
To be eligible for our Work Experience Programme, you must have already attended one of our 4Talent events or open days in 2011 or attend one of our open days which will be held in March and September 2012.  Applications open three times each year, in early Spring, Summer and late Autumn.

Tips for Success
The more flexible you can be on your available dates the better chance you have of being placed within a department.  Many people agree time off from their job, school or university to undertake a placement with us.

Demonstrating a keen interest in a particular department and explaining your reasons make you a more attractive offer to the host department.

Work Experience Dates

Applications open in early Spring, Summer and late Autumn.  For 2012, that's Feb 20th, May 21st and Aug 20th.

Applications will next open on May 21st.
