Apprenticeship Programme

Applications for our apprenticeship programme are now closed.

What is the Channel 4 Apprenticeship Programme all about?

Our apprenticeships are about helping bright people to get experience in this industry, get a new qualification and get paid at the same time. They're our way of encouraging talented people who are looking for an alternative to university, whatever their background.

With an apprenticeship, we invite you to work in one of our departments for 14 months. You learn how everything works, what everyone does, and how it all fits into the bigger picture of Channel 4. Alongside your job role you work towards an NVQ Level 3 or 4. On top of that, we give you a £18,500 salary for your hard work.

What will I be doing?

Over the 14 months, you'll get stuck into different long-term projects that count towards your NVQ. The projects you work on will depend on what department you're in – but wherever you are, you get to experience what it's like working in a forward-thinking, fast-paced media company.

Which departments can I work in?

We have opportunities based in our London, Manchester and Glasgow offices.

Take a look at the side bar to the right for the range of different opportunities we are offering in 2017/18.

What kind of people are you looking for?

We're looking for non-degree holders who are mad about the media and ready to develop their skills on the job. You don't need special qualifications – you just need a spark that sets you apart from the crowd. If you have already got a degree, maybe have a think about our entry level roles on the 4Jobs site or our Production Training Scheme instead.

In 2017 Channel 4 will broadcast the Para Athletics World Championships in London and we are incredibly proud of the work we did to change perceptions of people with disabilities at the London 2012 Olympics. We are excited to continue this work. This year we particularly welcome applications for our Apprenticeship Programme from people with disabilities.

If you have a disability or work with people with disabilities please take a look at our accessibility page for further information.

When can I apply?

13th June: Applications open

30 July: Applications close

7th-29th: September: Assessment days

30th October: Apprenticeships begin

How do I apply?

Click on the role you are interested in and you can apply through that page. To view all of our apprenticeships and other jobs at Channel 4 please visit our 4Jobs site.

If you are unable to complete an online application form please get in touch with the 4Talent team at to discuss alternative formats.

What happens at an Assessment day?

We will invite around 10 candidates per role to come and join us at an Assessment Day. This is our opportunity to meet you and find out what you're about and help you to understand more about the opportunity and how it could help you to start your media career. Usually the day will involve a presentation by 4Talent, some team working games and an individual discussion with Channel 4 staff from the department you have applied to.
